Social Programme

All delegates must book for th social events they wish to attend, including the Corporate Members Evening, the drinks reception on Tuesday 19 May 2009 and the Conference Banquet.

Sunday 17th May 2009
Trainees' Dinner at the Sapporo Teppanyaki restaurant
The Sapporo Teppanyaki is Liverpool's most established and exciting Japanese restaurant. The finest ingredients are cooked before your eyes at 'Teppanyaki' table grills. Here the 'Show Chef' juggles and entertains you whilst preparing your food. Be prepared for an evening of fun with a show of acrobatic knife skills, spectacular flames and culinary delights.

Corporate Members' evening
Albert Dock Arch

The Corporate members' event will be held in the PanAm Bar and Restaurant situated within the Albert Dock, five minutes walk from the ACCL and hotels. This contemporary venue is located in the Grade 1 listed Britannia Pavilion, with fabulous views towards Liverpool's Three Graces.

Reception in Exhibition
Following last year's successful event, there will be a drinks reception and buffet in the exhibition area starting immediately after the end of the day's scientific programme. This will give delegates the opportunity to peruse the Exhibition area and network with colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere. The reception will be open until 1900h and will be followed later in the evening by the Focus Fringe event.

Cavern ClubFocus Fringe
2009 is the tenth anniversary of the now traditional Focus fringe event so there is no better place for it to be held than Liverpool's world famous Cavern Club. For those with musical talents there will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to perform live on stage at the home of the Beatles. Otherwise delegates can simply enjoy the experience and atmosphere of this unique venue.

Wednesday 20th May 2009
St George's HallThe conference banquet will be held at the impressive St George's Hall which was nominated as a world heritage site and re-opened in April 2007. Coaches will transport delegates for the short journey from the ACCL to St George's Hall in the city centre. Pre-dinner drinks will be followed by dinner and entertainment in this magnificent venue.
